I am trying to find a solution to a problem with my magnum 8 powerhead. I had it connected to my smartwave controller but had to unplug it as every time it restarts it makes up to 3 loud clunking noises. I have taken it apart and everything seems fine. They are both only about a week old and I bought them because I read on your site that they are compatible. Is this a know issue with these pumps or is there a simple fix that I need to do. Please advise as soon as possible.

I receveid the information back from the tech dept. Sorry for delay but X-mas doesn't help to be efficient. It is very strange what happened at your K8. Our range of pumps is compatible with Smartwave controller and specially the bigger ones that have the electronic start. The engineer suggests to check the presence of all the bearings and ORings of the rotor. Another suggestion is the follows: be sure the front chamber has been screwed on perfectly to the motor part.

I have checked everything multiple times and all seems to be ok. The only thing that I can think of is that the pump is faulty or might just need a replacement propeller. I have a koralia 7 + 8 and the noise level of the 8 is much louder. There is a white bushing ceramic inside the pump the propeller is a one piece shaft that starts with the magnet, oring, and white bushing. The koralia 8 seems to jump a small bit everytime it restarts and the propeller jumps forward a small bit. Any suggestions you have I would be grateful.
