I have recently fitted a new ETH 200-12 external heater that I purchased in the UK, it has been fitted in line with my my Eheim External Filter. The Temperature is being regulated correctly but I am seeing an issue when sometimes the Heater “double clicks” and the red LED turns on for just a few milliseconds then turns off again so a "double click" is heard. This double click action repeats itself many times (between five and eight times) then after some time the single click is heard and the LED will remain lit for a minute or so while the water is heated then turn off. It is as though the thermostat senses that the water is too cold and turns on the heater then almost immediately senses that the water is at the correct temperature then turns off again than after a few seconds does it all over again this repeats for up to 8 times. Is the many double clicks that I sometimes hear (not always) normal? I have checked the installation it is correct and there are no air bubbles in my filter system I have a 3 foot tank with the a spray bar at one end of the tank that is the clean water in and at the opposite end is the filter pipe out that takes the dirty water out of the tank. The capacity of my tank is approx 130 litres water. The ETH 200 is fitted in line on the spray bar in hose.

I have one ETH 300W (2,5 years old) bought in UK and since the last weekend it is making the same problem as yours .... double,triple,quadruple click on/off/on/off.... One other thing ... whe it turns off the led doesn't turns off completly ! It stays a little retro iluminated! Just ordered a new one. My luck is that for the moment I have no fish on this tank.

Is it damaged? One other thing .... this as started after it beeing cleaned and turned off for avout one week. Then after beeing assembled inline with my Eheim Pro II 2026 it as started this !! I turned it off, because I´m afraid of some kind of short circuit / fire.
